Auction item – 2000, Russia, a  commemorative issue „The 55th Anniversary of the Victory in the World War II” – coins series: „The Hero Cities”.

 This is a complete series of 2-ruble coins issued in 2000 by the Moscow Mint and the St. Petersburg Mint. The numismatic series consists of the following 7 coins:

Novorossiysk,  Tula,  Moscow,  Murmansk,  Leningrad,  Smolensk,  Stalingrad.  

  Composition: nickel brass,  diameter: 23.0 mm, weight: 5.1 g, edge: segmented reeding.

  The highest distinction class "Hero Cities" has been conferred on the cities on May 8, 1965 to mark the 20th Anniversary of the Victory in World War II and for the mass heroism, courage and tenacity of the soviet people displayed in the struggle against fascist invaders for freedom and independence.

  Sad - history has made an 80-year circle and is laughing at us. Russian grandparents fought against German fascists - and 80 years later, grandchildren became Russian fascists and war criminals in Ukraine.

  Moreover, historians estimate that Stalin's regime was directly and indirectly responsible for the deaths of between ten and tens of millions of Russians (the most common range is 15 to 40 million). The exact number is difficult to determine due to the scale of the crimes and the concealment of documents.

  I am dissolving parts of my private collection. Collector's exchange is possible.

   On the day of shipping the buyer  will receive by e-mail a photos of the shipment (wrapped auction set, addressed envelope), a photo of the post office receipt and tracking number.
