Auction coin: 1998, Ukraine, 2 Hryvni – commemorative issue: „The 80th Anniversary of the Battle of Kruty” from coin series: „Rebirth of Ukrainian Statehood”.

  Features: proof,  composition: nickel brass (German silver),  diameter-31.0 mm, weight: 12.80 g.  Mint: Kyiv-Ukraine.

  Obverse: the small National Emblem of Ukraine against the background of a multifigured composition, personifying the idea of the shot revival of the statehood: a column of the armed young people is moving through the target center, designated with three concentric circles and the conventionalized inscriptions (Ukraine/ 1999 / 2 hryvnia).

  Reverse: a two-part composition, which reflects the historic moment of two forces withstanding : static figures of young heroes as personification of defense of the Independence of the Ukrainian the - at the left and a stretched arm which directs attacking mounted troops as an allegory of the Bilshovyk intervention - on the right. Around the picture there are inscriptions (The 80th anniversary of the Battle of Kruty / 29.01.1918).  Edge: reeded.

  The coin is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Kruty (29 January 1918), the event that came into the history of Ukraine as a heroic deed of three hundred Kyivan students, who defended the Independence of Ukrainian People's Republic against the Bilshovyk troops.

  I am dissolving parts of my private collection. Collector's exchange is possible.
