unknown Roman coin |
Hi! Sorry, I don\'t speak German, hope it\'s no problem here. Since I am collecting Roman coins, could anybody tell me what coin exactly this is? It seems to be an antoninian, but what emperor?
Thanks
Paul

Hello Paul,
that´s an Antoninian from Gallienus (253-268) - in a poor condition.

Hmmm, yes indeed, André is right there, even in Top Condition it would only be worth a few pennies, (15-30 USD). From the looks of it, it`s a fake as well, (A very early fake that has been silvered), as it looks like the Bronze is poping through in places. Coins like this are not really worth anything, & the seller should know better. (In my Opp. he should be hung for trying to sell this :-)

Greetz 2 the German Reich, & Please dont buy this coin! it needs to be taken to the end of the world, & dropped off the side :-)

Hey Jo,
I thought until today that you collect old books and Swiss coins, especially the Swiss cantons! Since when you occupy with the Romans??? And since when you draw? With success?
