Auction coin: 1998, Ukraine, 5 Hryven - commemorative issue: „Assumption Cathedral” from coin-series: „Spiritual Treasures of Ukraine”.

  The commemorative coin is dedicated to restoration of the Assumption Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra monastery, the outstanding historical and cultural monument of Ukraine of the 11th-18th centuries.

  Features:  composition: nickel brass (German silver), diameter-35.0 mm, weight: 16.54 g. Mintage of 200,000 pcs. Mint: Kyiv,Ukraine.

  Obverse: there are depictions of the Assumption Cathedral, destroyed in 1941, and its ruins as well as the inscription: УСПЕНСКИЙ СОБОР КИЄВО-ПЕРЕРСЬКОЇ ЛАВРИ ХI СТ. (the Kyiv-Pechersk Assumption Cathedral of the 11th century).   Reverse: There are depictions of the Assumption Cathedral, destroyed in 1941, and its ruins as well as the inscription: УСПЕНСКИЙ СОБОР КИЄВО-ПЕРЕРСЬКОЇ ЛАВРИ ХI СТ. (the Kyiv-Pechersk Assumption Cathedral of the 11th century).  Edge: corrugated.
