The USA Half Dollar 1923-S Monroe is a commemorative silver coin issued to honor James Monroe, the 5th President of the United States, and to celebrate his contributions to the nation, including the Monroe Doctrine.

Struck in 90% silver at the San Francisco Mint (mintmark “S”), the obverse features a portrait of James Monroe. The reverse depicts the Virginia State Capitol, symbolizing his political legacy and connection to Virginia.
